Man seriously injured in factory roof fall

A MAN has suffered serious injuries after falling almost 30ft from the roof of a factory.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Southfield Road on Kineton Road Industrial Estate in Southam yesterday (Thursday) at around 3.15pm.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a senior paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance with a doctor on board attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The man, believed to be in his 30s, had reportedly fallen from the roof of a factory and had suffered a serious head injury and suspected chest and pelvic injuries.

“Due to the serious nature of the man’s injuries, the doctor decided to anaesthetise him to stabilise his condition and enable crews to continue emergency treatment.

“The man was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further emergency treatment.”
