British Transport Police officers want to speak to this man after a woman was spat at on a train.
The incident happened on Saturday December 6 on the 6.46pm Euston to Crewe train as it pulled into Rugby station.
PC Lee Garner said: “As the victim got up to leave the train at Rugby, she walked past a man in the carriage who got up from his seat and spat in her face.
“The woman does not know why this happened, and was understandably upset by the incident.”
While the victim got off the train, the man remained on it. Officers believe he may have left the service at Stafford.
Officers have been following several lines of enquiry, and are now asking for the public’s help.
PC Garner said: “Incidents like this are, thankfully, rare, but when they do happen we work hard to identify those responsible.
“I believe the man in the image we are issuing today has information about what happened. Who is he?”
