A man dressed in long robes has been delivering offensive leaflets in the Rugby area.

A resident in South Street, Rugby, received a leaflet yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

The resident, who did not wish to be named, said she saw a man wearing dark robes walking down the street with a handful of leaflets.

She described the content of the leaflet as ‘the most hateful thing she had ever seen’.

A man was arrested on suspicion of delivering ‘hate’ leaflets last month but no further action was taken.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said: “We have received multiple reports of a man who is believed to be distributing materials in the Rugby area.

“The materials are described as offensive in their nature and Warwickshire Police encourage anyone who has come across these leaflets and found them offensive to report this by calling 101.”
