Masked men armed with a gun threatened staff and stole money during robbery at Bilton bookmakers

Two men armed with a gun burst into a bookmakers in Bilton last night (Tuesday).

The two men targeted Coral Bookmakers in Bilton at around 6.25pm last night.

The first man, who brandished a long barrelled firearm, demanded money from the cashier, whilst the second man stood guard by the door.

Following the robbery the two men ran away and were last seen running inbetween the butchers and the doctors surgery in Bilton village.

Police believe they may have escaped across fields towards Cheshire Close, Rugby.

Both robbers are described as slim build. Their faces were covered but both spoke and are believed to be male.

The first male carrying the firearm was wearing a three quarter length olive coloured khaki style jacket with a hood, and a motorcycle helmet with a oily ‘iridium’ visor.

The second male stood by the door was wearing a black full face covering similar to a scarf or balaclava, and a black Nike hooded top with a white Nike tick on the left chest area.

Nobody inside the bookmakers was hurt.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “We don’t know who the offenders are so would like anyone who saw the offenders before, during or after the incident to come forward, or for anyone with information about this offender to come forward.”
