A DREAM has come true for a Rugby boy who will run out with England at Wembley on Saturday.
Finlay Commons will be a player escort as the English national football team take on Spain in a friendly at Wembley.
It will be fantastic day out for the Boughton Leigh Primary pupil,, who will walk out with the Three Lions as Fabio Capello’s England side look to match the pace, style and skill of the world champions.
Finlay, eight, of Whernside, Brownsover, is looking forward to the big day. He said: “I’m very excited about getting the chance to walk out at Wembley Stadium in front of thousands of people.”
He added: “It is a dream come true.”
Finlay is one of 11 lucky youngsters who have won the chance to walk out with the two teams after entering a national competition.
He won the competition after his mother, Donna, answered a correct question in the Sun newspaper.
Donna said: “I don’t know who is more excited, Finlay or his dad Martin!”
World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst, who works for sponsor McDonald’s, said: “It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be walking out on the pitch at Wembley Stadium and one Finlay will never forget, especially with such great players and the world champions on display.
“Hopefully Finlay will even bring the team some luck so we can get the right result!”
