Men charged after village pub robbery

POLICE have charged two men on suspicion of robbery following a robbery at The Sparrow Public House in Ansty.

The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Sunday.

Clark McAuley and Sean O’Sullivan have both been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in relation to the offence at the Sparrow Public House and a similar offence at the Cocked Hat Public House in Coventry.

They have also been charged with handling a stolen vehicle from a car key burglary.

Clark McAuley has also been charged with a dangerous driving offence.

Both men were remanded in custody after appearing before Coventry Magistrates on Wednesday.

The Coventry men will appear at Coventry Crown Court on Friday, July 22.
