Roll back the years when The Searchers bring the magic of Merseybeat to Rugby with a concert at the Benn Hall next week.
After reaching number one with their debut single Sweets For My Sweet in 1963, The Searchers had a string of follow-up hits and have remained a big attraction in the years since.
They have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and still have a hectic touring schedule which sees them at the Benn Hall next Friday, December 2.
The audience can expect to be treated to all the hits, including Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away and When You Walk in the Room, together with fan-favourite album tracks and anecdotes from the band’s career.
The four-piece – now comprising John McNally, Frank Allen, Spencer James and Scott Ottaway – emerged from Liverpool’s thriving scene of the early 1960s, following in the footsteps of The Beatles and joining the likes of Gerry & The Pacemakers in dominating the charts.
They were a big hit when they appeared in the Fanzone just over a year ago and tickets for their return visit, priced £18 in advance, can be booked online at www.bennhall.com or at the box office on 01788 533719.
Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm.
