Michelin praise comes to The Cross
The Cross restaurant has been awarded with a coveted Michelin star just one year after opening in the town.
The New Street gastro pub’s head chef Adam Bennett was handed the award as one of only 14 new pubs and restaurants around the UK.
And the hard-working team has put the accolade down to simple food cooked well and with the very best locally sourced ingredients.

Hide AdChef, Bennett was given the accolade while also competing in the European finals of the Bocuse D’Or culinary Olympics.
And has described the news of his second star as “completely unexpected”.
Bennett was given his first while working at Simpsons in Birmingham - jointly owned with The Cross by Andreas Antona.
The Cross’ restaurant was visited by secret eaters from the Michelin Guide 2015 and the eatery will feature in the new edition.
