As the UK prepares to go back to school Ryman has created a test to see if parents can answer some core school subject questions - with the Midlands coming out on top with an average score of 61%.
2,155 people were tested on a set of 10 school subject questions including Maths, English, Science, Spanish, French, ICT, Art, Music, Geography and History.
More UK residents knew the answer to the Spanish question than to the English one – Ryman analysed them by region and gender to spot any trends or exceptions.
Gender splits showed men slightly beating women overall with an average score of 58% to women’s 57%.
Women did fare better on some core subjects including Maths and English, but Men did better at ICT.
