Great minds at the Revel Primary school in Monks Kirby are all revved up for success.

Princethorpe’s Sports Hall was transformed into a mini version of Silverstone for the hotly contested regional leg of the Jaguar Primary Schools Challenge 2013.

Revel’s Shooting Stars team took second place, while its Lightning Kids team came third and also won best engineered car. They supplied their own words to the Advertiser as part of their studies.

Georgia Lawton, nine, team manager for the Shooting Stars, said: “Each year Jaguar cars teams up with Formula One and challenges primary schools around Britain to design and race their own F1 style car.

“Three schools in the Warwickshire area held qualifying rounds and the winning three teams from each school went along to Princethorpe College for the regional finals.”

Shooting Stars member George Berrey, nine, said: “We enjoyed ourselves doing the challenge and to top it all off we were going to the national finals in June at the Ricoh Arena Coventry.”

Sophie Dallimore, nine, also from the Shooting Stars Team, said: “Maybe we need to make our car go a bit faster for next time. I can’t wait.”
