Rugby Spring Fair organisers will be able to book even more exciting acts this year after a £1,000 donation from the Asda Foundation.
Asda community champion Allie Scrace presented the cheque to the three Rotary clubs behind the fair at the Rugby store on Friday.
Rotary Club of Rugby Saturday Breakfast president Ken Ure said: “This support ensures that we are able to commit to booking a variety of professional acts to entertain the thousands of people who we expect at the Whitehall Recreation Ground on Monday, May 1.
“We hope to raise over £10,000 for the many charities that Rotary supports and hope that the charities which have stalls at the Fair will raise a similar amount between them.”
Allie added: “ASDA has made it our mission to ensure that every ASDA store helps make their local community a better place to live, work and grow up in.
“We were delighted to be approached by the Rotary clubs who do so much to support local community organisations and charities by organising the Spring Fair which is a great family fun event.
Willy Goldschmidt, a member of the organising committee, said: “This year we will be introducing some new acts as well as welcoming back some acts which have been very popular in the past.
“An innovation for this year is that we have decided to offer discounted tickets for the Fair from our website, www.rugbyspringfair.co.uk.
“Tickets go on sale this weekend, giving visitors the opportunity to save 20 per cent or more on the gate prices making the event even better value for those who book in advance.
“Details of the programme will be published over the coming weeks.”
