Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision between Princethorpe and Ryton on Dunsmore

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious road accident that happened last night (Tuesday).

The collision, on the A423 Oxford Road at approximately 8.20pm, is believed to have happened as a motorcyclist riding a black Yamaha motorcycle overtook two Ford Transit vans travelling towards Ryton on the stretch of road leading to the A445 Leamington Road roundabout.

As the motorcyclist overtook the two Ford Transit vans, he collided with a red Dodge Avenger 4x4 vehicle travelling in the same direction.

The motorcyclist suffered a serious injury to his foot and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.

The red Dodge Avenger failed to stop at the scene and drove off towards Southam.
