A driver with suspected spinal injuries was cut free from a car after a collision on the M6 near Rugby.
Two fire engines from Rugby attended the scene on Friday at around 11.50pm, along with the police, ambulance and highways services.
The car had left the motorway and was on the embankment.
The incident happened between junctions one and two on the northbound carriageway.
The casualty was released by firefighters and handed over to the care of the Ambulance Service.
Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.
