CATTHORPE Interchange will close again overnight this week.
The M1 both north and southbound will be closed between the junction 19 entry and exit slip roads and where the M6 joins the M1. The closures will be in place from 9pm to 6am on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 November, and from 10pm to 8am on the night of Friday, November 11.
A short diversion will be in place during the closures, which will take traffic via junction 1 of the M6.
Highways Agency project manager, Ivan Marriott said: “In order to progress the essential replacement of the Catthorpe Viaduct in the safest possible environment for both road users and the workforce, these works require a full north and southbound closure of the M1 carriageway. Although we are carrying out the work overnight to reduce delays, we’d advise road users to be aware of the closures and plan their journey accordingly.”
The scheme to replace the Catthorpe Viaduct started in July 2010, and is due to be complete by spring 2012.
