MP’s history lesson was very civil

BATTLES and the social effect of the English Civil War was the subject of a history lesson held by Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White this week.

The Conservative MP visited Campion School in Sydenham to gain insight into the challenges faced by teachers when developing lesson plans and engaging with young people.

The lesson focused on the Battle of Edgehill which was fought between Royalist and Parliamentarian forces near Kineton in October 1642.

Mr White said: “I was very impressed with the enthusiasm of the young people and their willingness to learn.

“It was a very valuable experience and it added to my already high regard for teachers and the work that they do.”

The MP has also thanked headteacher Mark Feldman for giving him some helpful tips on some practical points of how to construct his lesson and get his points across clearly to the class.
