Myton Hospice hits the road

A WARWICK charity went mobile last week to raise awareness of the work they do.

The Myton Hospices, based off Myton Road, provides care and treatment for those with terminal illnesses and needs to raise nearly £7 million each year to continue to offer the range of services they do.

Last week a team from the hospice help a roadshow, first at the Royal Priors shopping centre in Leamington, and then at Sainsbury’s in Saltisford, Warwick. They also held roadshows in Rugby and Coventry where they have other bases.

The aim of the roadshow was to generate support from the public and also educate people about what it is they do.

Myton Hospice communications officer Sara Fenton said: “It was a chance for our community team to get out into the areas they cover and talk to people about who we are and what we do.

“We raised over £70 on the day which brought the total to £250 added to the money raised through the martial arts event. We really enjoyed holding the road shows and it was lovely for our fundraisers to get out into the community and meet our supporters.”
