A new cycle path which will connect Long Lawford to the town centre has been welcomed by Rugby MP Mark Pawsey.

He said: “It is great news that this cycle path is to be built. As a cyclist myself I understand the value of the cycle paths we have in Rugby. This path will keep cyclists off Lawford Road which can become very busy which will ensure the safety of students cycling to Avon Valley School from the town centre.”

Work on the £445,000 project has already begun and it is anticipated that the cycle path will be complete in early 2014.

Mr Pawsey added: “Rugby is building up a great network of cycle paths which is excellent news.”
