Guests are invited to dress to impress at a learning disabled group’s fundraising ball.

The glamorous event, held at the Benn Hall, has been organised by New Directions. The group provides a range of services for learning disabled people including supported living, home care, respite, day activities, transition support from adolescence to adulthood, residential services and dementia support.

The event takes place on Friday March 6 and tickets cost £25, which includes a disco and two course meal by caterers Chef’s Kitchen.

The ball starts at 7.30pm with drinks on arrival and features a red-carpet photographer and auction.

Doreen Woodward from New Directions said: “The aim of the fundraising ball is to enable us to purchase specialist equipment and create a sensory garden that will enhance the lives of the people we support with learning and physical disabilities in our new home, Poppy Place.

“We are so grateful for the generosity of the local community in Rugby and your support can make a real difference.

“We hope local people and businesses will support us by buying tickets as soon as they can before the tickets sell out, as they did last year.”

Raffle and auction prizes include a villa in Florida, Emma Bridgewater factory tour, tea and cake with 15 per cent discount off goods, an England football shirt signed by Roy Hodgson, four tickets to a match at Northampton Saints, a flight in a light aircraft, a break at a holiday cottage in Bude, Cornwall, and a dining experience at The Shard, London.

Raffle tickets will be available on the night.
