Her own teaching has been judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted on three occasions in Music, Drama and English. Christine is also an accomplished musician, having gained Grade 8, Distinction, in piano, violin and flute from the Royal College of Music.
Commenting on her recent appointment, Christine said: “I am passionate about teaching and am particularly excited by the prospect of translating the vision for Rugby Free Secondary School into reality and providing inclusive education and outcomes for all children.
“I have always had a keen interest in music and recognise the correlation between exposure to music and wider academic attainment, particularly in Maths. I enjoy engaging and motivating young people to excel and a school that focuses on STEM and Music is the ideal environment in which to do this.
“I was delighted to meet over 130 prospective parents and children at the Open Event on October 13 and I am really looking forward to meeting more families at our next Open Event on Thursday October 22.”
Lead proposer Tom Legge said: “Our selection process for an exceptional, inspirational Headteacher with a shared vision for RFSS was extremely rigorous. We are delighted that we have appointed Christine who stood out from a strong field of candidates and has an excellent track record and the perfect experience to lead RFSS.”
