Passengers wanting to know more about public transport and school buses in Rugby can call a new hotline.

The county council is encouraging people to dial 01926 412929. An automated menu directs callers to the person most appropriate for their queries.

Cllr Peter Butlin, the county councillor responsible for transport, said: “The new bus hotline has been put in place in time for our busiest period, from July to September, so that we can manage calls easier.

“Now customers know when their call will be taken, and the new service will put calls through to the relevant person quicker and ensure that every enquiry is answered as quickly as possible. It also offers the opportunity to email or tweet us if people prefer.”

The county council’s bus service Twitter account - @WCCBusServices - is the official site for public and school bus information in Warwickshire and staff are on hand to respond to enquiries from 9am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.
