A student from Avon Valley School and Performing Arts College has been crowned Junior Miss Nuneaton 2016.
Vanshika Anand competed against 20 other people for various titles in the competition, which is part of the Miss Coventry and Warwickshire Awards.
Vanshika, a year 10 student at the Newbold school, said: “I have never felt so proud to be showing my Indian culture to Warwickshire.
“This is actually my first pageant ever and I am so shocked to be placed as Junior Miss Nuneaton. The girls I have met will be friends for life and it will bring so many other opportunities in life.”
Vanishika wants to highlight issues including animal cruelty and the environment.
She said: “The reason I entered was raise awareness to animal cruelty and environmental problems.
“I was hoping when I reach an age to be able to enter for the Miss England pageant I could show my passion for the world.”
So far, Vanshika has raised more than £100 for the Beauty with a Purpose Charity and Zoe’s Place in Coventry.
Over the next 12 months Vanshika will attend event and festivals in her capacity as Junior Miss Nuneaton, she also intends to continue fundraising.
