A town centre pub that was taken over yesterday (Monday) will undergo a £500,000 refurbishment.

The Black Swan, in Chapel Street, Rugby, was bought by Amber Taverns.

The company owns nearly 100 pubs across the UK.

The pub, which is also known as The Dirty Duck, is expected to re-open in 14 to 15 weeks after a full renovation.

Gary Roberts, operations manager for Amber Taverns, said: “We will be keeping it as a traditional pub and it will retain its character.

“The £500,000 investment will also improve the beer garden which is a little hidden gem in the town centre.

“We plan to keep the name the same unless people come up with other ideas. We always like to listen to customers and take their views on board.”
