Work has started on a £15,000 revamp of the play areas at Caldecott Park.

The work includes expanding the play area next to the park’s Old Tool Shed Cafe and installing new play equipment - a basket swing and thumb piano.

The revamp also includes new play equipment for the park’s main play area, with cradle seat swings, an infinity bowl, slide, and spring rocker set to be installed.

Plans for the revamp were drawn up in response to visitor surveys and requests for more play equipment from visitors to the park.

The work should be completed in three weeks.

Cllr Dr Mark Williams, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for sustainable environment, said: “The council has listened to visitors to Caldecott Park and invested in new play equipment for children of all ages.

“We’re delighted to further enhance the facilities on offer, and look forward to the work being completed in time for the school Christmas holiday.”
