A Midlands-based charity is set to start monthly events in Rugby aimed at getting children up and active.

Kids Run Free will be hosting the sessions in Whitehall Recreation Ground on the first Saturday of every month, starting this weekend.

They are open to children of all abilities and start at 9am.

There are individual races for each age category from 50m to more than 1km and a free gift for every eight events attended.

The free events are for toddlers to 16- year-olds and look to create a fun environment while igniting a passion for sport and physical activity with the knock-on effect of helping children be healthier, happier and more confident.

To register visit or if you would like to volunteer to help run the sessions contact co-ordinator Justin Mills at

The Rugby launch is the 16th for the charity and is being supported by Queen Diamond Jubilee Centre.
