Olympic values are celebrated in style

Pupils from Round Oak School in Warwick and Campion and Shrubland Street Primary Schools in Leamington welcomed Paralympic alpine ski racer Anna Turney when she visited Campion to present awards to youngsters who had excelled in demonstrating one of the Olympic values of friendship, respect, excellence, determination, inspirationm courage and equality.

Meanwhile, Midlands rhythm and blues eight-piece The Doctor Teeth Big Band - who are fronted by Trinity School assistant principal Stephen Steinhaus, headlined the Exhibition Road Show Olympic festival near Hyde Park in London on Saturday night.

Mr Steinhaus said: “We’ve spread the good word of jumping blues music all over the isles, but to have had the opportunity to play as part of the Olympics is hugely special for all of us. It was an awesome gig - we had swing dancers from London Swing Dance Society dancing all night with us!”
