THE Friends of St Cross in Rugby are celebrating the 2012 Olympics by helping people get fit.
They have donated nearly £500 of new gym equipment to the hospital’s physiotherapy department.
This replacement and new upgraded equipment enables the therapists to put into practice the latest ideas in patient rehabilitation.
Therapy manager Sue Tura said, “Most outpatients undergoing an exercise programme will benefit from this generous donation.
“The new equipment will help patients referred for muscular and joint problems resulting from injuries and accidents, as well as patients having undergone a joint replacement.”
The sporting gift includes a half-moon Bosu ball, modern medicine balls, a traditional wobble board and a step platform,
Sue said the new kit will enhance people’s balance, co-ordination and core stability.
