A great use of historic building

As a Warwickian I would like to express my views on a wonderful evening at the Warwick Grand Assizes held over the last weekend.

We were fortunate enough to have tickets for the Sunday evening performance.

Held in the Old Court House, Warwick, the Slaughterhouse Players performed three true cases which were held in the 1814 Assizes during the reign of King George III.

The atmosphere was tense, the heckling rife - the court usher demanding ‘Silence in Court’ whilst the judges presided over the verdicts.

Warwick would do well to look at repeating this sort of event on a regular basis.

I am sure there are some very interesting villains from the past that could be brought back to life - using the wonderful facilities we have - giving Warwick another tourist attraction to help our economy.

Light refreshments could also be served. Come on Warwick let’s use our historic facilities and not lose them.
