Changes to town are giving me the hump

The alterations to Warwick’s main thoroughfare give me the ‘hump’ – and I think many other townspeople too.

The county council’s efforts to impede traffic through the ancient town seem to me to be unnecessary, a waste of a considerable amount of money and way over the top.

In my observation, vehicles can rarely speed along Jury Street/High Street because of slow-moving traffic and parked vehicles. Further, the closure of the Brook Street turn is another bureaucratic interference similar to that inflicted on Market Place a few years ago.

The money expended on these unnecessary traffic calming features could have been better spent. - Philip Wallbank, Lodge Crescent, Warwick.
