Happy to see democracy work

My email to the Courier immediately after the full Council meeting (June 25) to decide the future location of WDC headquarters was not “gleeful” but factual and intended to be helpful (Courier leader last week).

I was there. Councillor after councillor stood up to comment on the number of protest letters received from their constituents. If enough people care, policies can be changed. This is good for democracy.

Cllr Mobbs’ comments show that he has misunderstood the objections: Leamington people were always and are still happy to accommodate the staff of WDC.

If new offices must be built, please let them be built somewhere which adds to the town’s beauty and prosperity and not where they damage the elegant entrance of the best park in the district (see www.tripadvisor.co.uk)
