Have the courage to right a wrong

I would like to add my voice to the many who object to the granting of a licence, for a sexual entertainment venue, in the Old Town of Leamington.

How can a handful of councillors say it is right for a sex club to exist in a small town, trying very hard to make it a place where small businesses can flourish and be a safe environment for everyone to live and work.

We have a beautiful town which we are very fond of. The council should be concentrating on trying to keep a wonderful building like the old library, having many uses for the benefit of the local community.

The very good article in the Courier showing the filming for a BBC period drama at the Old Library shows how Leamington has a wealth of historical buildings. They should not be sold to be converted into expensive housing.

The art gallery next door has a fantastic exhibition displaying a wealth of art, all done be local artists. These are the places and people we should be supporting not businessmen who exploit women to make money for themselves.

I hope Warwick District Council will have the courage to right the wrong it has done. - Marie Willington, Lewis Road, Radford Semele.
