Increase in housing is not needed

With regard to the proposed North Leamington green belt development. Not only has the council ignored planning policy as it already has identified development sites A452 Europa Way and south of Heathcote towards Bishops Tachbrook, it should not be building on green belt, as it has already these sites suitable for development, as per the National Planning Policy Framework.

In the process it is potentially spending valuable money, which the local community could use, in an effort to get this not required proposal through.

Can someone tell me who do I complain to that can ensure the council adheres to policy, not just does what it wants?

Furthermore, has the council considered the fact that in the last 12 months and the coming year, approximately 500 purpose-built student bedrooms have been created in the Leamington area?

This has resulted in many houses being returned to the community for non students to either rent privately or via DSS, or the owner has sold them to local families to occupy. As the demand from students has decreased because of these purpose built developments and the national decrease in student numbers due to the increase in fees, further student houses should become available as landlords fail to get students to rent them.

Thus I feel that the demand for this level of development will not be required. - Mr J S Kandola, Leicester Lane, Leamington.
