Let the Sea Scouts get on with it

Just who are these people that call themselves the Friends of St. Nicholas Park?

What right and by what authority do they have to complain about whatever it is that the Sea Scouts wish to do with their building.?

I must confess that I know nothing about what is going on but I do know that whatever it is that the Sea Scouts wish to do will only be of benefit to those youths that are members of their organisation, and will not be to the detriment of the park.

I have a feeling that the Sea Scouts have probably been around a lot longer than the Friends of St Nicholas Park, and would it not be of great help if the Friends offered some support to the Scouts.

After all we do have a county council that are seemingly hell bent on doing away with the youth service in the county of Warwickshire and probably will not stop until such time as they have managed to kill it off altogether.

It is therefore left to such organisations as the Scouts, Cubs and Cadets and other youth organisations to carry on with their good work. Let’s face it they all do a very good job and at the same time try to produce youth with a sense of good behaviour and responsibility. Their leaders are doing an excellent job and seldom get the praise they deserve other than the satisfaction of enjoying what it is for the youths in their charge.

With the type of council leaders we now have at county HQ it will be up to others to support these groups. I must add though that I am somewhat surprised that there appears very little coming into the open from those parents who have their own children as members of the organisation.

I think they might have to make a little more noise if permission is to be granted by another council committee. So do not bank on getting support from this committee either.
