Looking for former orchestra members

In July 2012 the City of Coventry Youth Orchestra is holding a concert to celebrate its 50th anniversary and is looking for ex-members to join the present students in the Guy Nelson Hall in Warwick on Saturday July 14 2012. The day will start early afternoon with rehearsals and after the evening concert there will be plenty of time for everyone to catch up with old friends and swap stories. We can’t, however, make room for everyone on the stage, so if you want to play, then please get in touch as soon as possible by e mailing [email protected] or visit the orchestra’s website www.cyo.org.uk for more details. If you don’t want to play, then please still come along and support us in what we are sure will be a musical occasion not to forget!

The orchestra still rehearses every Friday evening during term time and will give five concerts this season. The first is on Sunday October 23 in the Guy Nelson Hall Warwick, followed in December by the ever popular Carols for All in Coventry Cathedral. New members of the right standard are always welcome with vacancies at present in all sections of the orchestra.

Please pass the news about the concert along to anyone you know who might be interested. The more ex-players we can contact the better! - The CYO Parents’ Committee.
