Money would be best spent on businesses

In answer to Jan Gillett, I suggest that she looks at the petition on stop HS2 where many people from all over the country have stated reasons for not wanting this scheme built.

The amount of money that is due to be spent (which also appears to be far higher than other countries) if it goes ahead would be better spent on setting up business in the north, east and west of the country.

Along with improved transport to these areas that are really in need, London is not. Local work, less travel = happier people. They pay less out, less time is spent getting to work and less Co2 is used (most have to use cars to get to the stations and these are further apart if you want to use HS2).

The beautiful countryside, that many fought and died for, will remain intact and not a bomb site for years. Councils and MPs along the route do not see this as a viable scheme along the proposed route.I do not believe that it will improve our country. I do believe that other counties would, along, with a few rich men get richer,as the building of it would be contracted to China,Japan or Germany. - Name and address supplied.
