Questions that need answering

I read with interest the article on Racing Club Warwick in last week’s Courier.

There are a number of issues arising from the article and once again it looks like the taxpayer will have to bear the potential £1 million cost.

The immediate questions that spring to mind are:

1. Why has this been going on since November 2008 without a resolution, which could have saved the taxpayer a great deal of money and WDC credibility?

2. Is it intended to have a full public investigation into how the council got into this mess, and will it gather evidence from all parties and advise the public in detail as to what really happened and who was at fault? This should be a minimum given the potentially large figures being suggested.

3. Were the public and elected councillors misled about the events of the last five/six years about what has happened with the Racing Club and the cadets as the report in the paper implies? As a minimum there should be a full independent enquiry from which actions should be taken if necessary.

There are many more questions arising from what seems a shambolic and grossly mismanaged sequence of events.

This just continues to add to the list of poor performances within WDC.
