Restore Old Town to former glory first
I was so disgusted to read the council has decided to resurface the Chandos Street site as I see councillors from outside the Leamington wards have decided to support the development - ie Cllrs Grainger and Coker from Warwick and Kenilworth.
Perhaps they never go near Old Town, Spencer Street, Bath Street, High Street and Clemens Street, which needs a new development with its empty and decaying shops - and also a maternity block for pigeons in Bath Street. Perhaps one day a show of councillors’ hands might make a big difference.
It is now a few years since councillors outside Radford Semele voted to destroy the history and heritage of the old school built in 1860 which is the only one to be destroyed in the area. I hoped they would put Old Town back to its former glory first. - Mr M.B. Trinder, Thornley Close, Radford Semele.
