Swap barn for a strip club application?

I was intrigued to read the letter from Sally and Bernard Davies in the Courier, August 31, in connection with the proposed lap dancing club in Leamington.

They mentioned that a comment had been made “by more than one person” towards the chairperson at a committee hearing regarding the granting of a licence for the proposed club. And that it had also been mentioned at the same meeting that she (the chairperson) “would hardly be likely to vote for the proposal if it was to be located in her own back yard (Haseley Knob) or in the ward she represents (Leek Wootton)”.

I can tell Bernard and Sally that the district councillor in question is far more vigilant about what happens in her “own back yard” than they could ever imagine. I have a bona fide farming friend who wanted to erect a barn on his farm within her constituency and the councillor has been involved in the refusal of planning permission.

If the councillor is so disposed towards that type of entertainment perhaps my friend should apply for permission for a barn that would be suitable as a sex club. - George Robertson, via email.
