Wrong to take the credit for idea

Jonathan Chilvers is wrong to claim the other parties are “catching up” in supporting the fitting of LEDs in street lights (Courier last week). The Labour group has argued for this measure since 2011.

It’s just a pity that the Conservative group chose instead to waste half a million pounds (and countless hours) on installing a computer system connected to every street light in the county, rather than embarking on this scheme earlier.
