RUGBY Mayor Kathyrn Lawrence joined staff at Oxfam to launch this year’s Bookfest.
Now in its fourth year, it celebrates the central role books play in people’s lives and the impact that buying a book from Oxfam can have on the lives of people living in poverty around the world.
Oxfam is appealing to the public to bring their unwanted books to the shops to counter a recent drop in donations.
Rugby’s Oxfam shop in Regent Street will host a silent auction during the festival to with branded clothing, homeware and books on offer to the highest bidder.
The campaign runs from Monday until July 15
