RUGBY Borough Council’s Family Lifestyle programme, ‘Change Makers’, will launch in September in an attempt to raise awareness amongst residents of the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Rugby Borough Council, in partnership with NHS Warwickshire, have put in place a two year project aimed at trying to halt the rise in obesity in young people in their families.

The project is open to any family in the Rugby borough and places can still be reserved on the first programmes, which start on Tuesday 6th September at Hilmorton Children’s Centre and Thursday 8th September at Boughton Leigh Children’s Centre in Brownsover. For more information on the initiative, please contact the Family Lifestyle & Active Recreation Officer on (01788) 533721 or e-mail

Young Mums in the Benn ward are invited to come along to the Claremont Children’s Centre on Thursday mornings in August to help support the newly formed buggy walk from the centre.

The Claremont Buggy Walk, which began on Thursday, July 28, is always on the lookout for new members, with many of the walks taking place around local parks and play areas. If you’re interested in attending and would like more information, please contact the Claremont Children’s Centre on (01788) 579488.
