Past chairman’s charity work helps Macmillan and Air Ambulance

THOUSANDS of pounds have been donated to two very good causes thanks to the generosity of people in Warwick district.

Former Warwick District Council chairman Felicity Bunker chose Macmillan Cancer Support and Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance as the two charities she would support during her term in office and the events she hosted raised £4,000 for each cause.

Cllr Bunker (Con, Kenilworth Park Hill) presented cheques to representatives of both charities at Leamington town hall last week.

Of Macmillan she said: “What dedicated people they are. They do such a wonderful job to make life better, not just for the patient, but for the families too.”

Cllr Bunker added: “The Air Ambulance is such a wonderful scheme, people wouldn’t be here unless we had it and you never know when you may need it”.

For the Air Ambulance the cash will fund important missions, which cost £1,400 each time.

Macmillan will be able to fund more benefit advisors who help to find financial support for families affected by cancer.

Cllr Bunker thanked chairman’s personal assistant Roma Armstrong and Cliff Wiggins for their help and efforts.
