A 45-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Princethorpe on Valentine’s Day.

The incident happened on the B4453 between the junction of B4455 Fosse Way and Hill Top Farm, on Saturday February 14 just after midnight.

The deceased has been named as Sean Walsh from Princethorpe. His family ask that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.

A Vauxhall Zafira is believed to have collided with a pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, was uninjured.

Police are appealing for information about the incident.
