Pedestrian injured in Leicester Road crash

Emergency services were called to Leicester Road in Rugby yesterday afternoon (Monday).

West Midlands Ambulance Service and Warwickshire Police were called to the scene of a crash at 5.10pm where a car and a pedestrian had been involved in a collision.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “We were called at 5.15pm to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. A 57 year old male ran into the road and was hit by Vauxhall Corsa.”

A spokesman for the ambulance service said that the man was treated at the scene for leg and shoulder injuries.

The man was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further treatment.

The female driver was not injured.
