Two men from Braunston are preparing to undertake a mammoth 150-mile run from from Northamptonshire to Liverpool FC home ground Anfield to support their friend, who has bowel cancer.

John Andrews, also from Braunston, was diagnosed with incurable and inoperable stage four bowel cancer in 2019 aged 48.

Friends and walking buddies, Chris Edge (49) and Andy Canning (60) decided it would be a great idea to run (and walk) around 150 miles from John's favourite pub, The Admiral

Nelson to Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club - John's beloved football team.

Leaving on Easter Monday 2021, Andy and Chris will mostly follow a canal-side route, and they are hoping to persuade others to join them for parts of it.

John hopes to join them for the last mile to Anfield.

They are aiming to arrive on Saturday, April 10 - the same day Aston Villa are due to play Liverpool there.

John said Macmillan Cancer Support has given him and others an amazing amount of support, and he wishes any money raised by the run to be donated to the charity.
