As we come out of lockdown after such a difficult time for all of us, now is the time to make the most of our lives, especially with the better weather on the way.

Volunteering for just a few hours of your time could be a gentle way back into the world out there while improving your skills and making new friends.

Our local charities are slowly but surely reopening and many need new volunteers to help them carry out their worthwhile work.

None of these charities could operate without their fantastic volunteers and you could play a part in this.

There is a variety of rewarding roles in Rugby Borough and we are here to help find something to suit you.

Our charity shops are looking for more volunteers, and there are roles in health and wellbeing, befriending and outdoor volunteering along with administration roles.

So if you feel like doing something different this year, please get in touch with me, Carol Kavanagh, your local Volunteering Coordinator at Warwickshire CAVA in Rugby.

You can contact me by email at [email protected] or by calling 01788 574258 or 07966 380314.

If you prefer to register online, we have a secure online portal called Volunteer Connect – just go to our website www.wcava.org.uk/volunteering and create your own account and profile. It is a simple way to search and apply for roles.

What does WCAVA do for community?

At Warwickshire & Solihull Community and Voluntary Action, we are the local voluntary and community infrastructure organisation for Warwickshire & Solihull, providing vital support to the volunteers, groups, organisations, enterprises and charities who are working to strengthen all of our communities across the county.

Our local office in Rugby is based at 19/20 North Street, very near to the park. You will know the building when you see it! We can help groups to obtain funding, recruit volunteers and help people find volunteering placements.
