Responding to the concerns, a spokesperson from Warwickshire County Council said: "Warwickshire County Council has worked with the district and borough councils to identify a number of locations across Warwickshire where the installation of charge points for electric vehicles may be suitable.
"These sites include a mix of car park locations and on-street sites, with West Rock car park, St Mary's Area 2 car park, Northgate St and Market Place chosen in Warwick.
"A number of factors have influenced site choices, including public visibility and the availability and cost of electrical connections.

"Warwickshire County Council has worked with our supplier to provide units which will not be obtrusive in the town centre conservation area.
"Parking changes to accompany the installation of the charge points are currently being consulted upon.
"Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning, Cllr Jeff Clarke, will consider a report on the consultation responses in March, when a decision will be taken on how to proceed."
