Creative business Go Go Makers, which works with primary schools providing wrap-around care, art clubs and holiday clubs, is asking children to make a bold and colourful picture with the words I LOVE LEAMINGTON in it along with a decorated heart and the name of their favourite place they like to visit in the town.

The business is working on the project with BID Leamington.

Emma Canning, who founded GoGo Makers, said: "In early December, I came across a strong and powerful video about the financial impact that the pandemic has had for their businesses that I saw on social media.

"It was being shared everywhere and after watching it it really pulled at my heartstrings.

"It also confirmed how, since the pandemic started, I have felt about our town and the impact that it has had on so many businesses.

"Every time I go into town or drive through it it makes me feel sad, empty and helpless.

"How are they going to get through this?

"I feel helpless but I believe that by showing our love and support and by letting them know that we will be back supporting now we can show them the hope and the reason to keep strong.

"I am hoping that we can all show them that we love Leamington.

"We believe that all children have a creative streak in them even those who think they don’t have any creativity often surprise themselves.

"So with this in mind I am asking each and every child including siblings, next door neighbours, anybody, to make a bold and colourful picture with the words 'I LOVE LEAMINGTON' - and inside the heart they can do a self-portrait, do a plain heart, make it bright and colourful, or perhaps patterned?

"The choice is absolutely yours.

"On the drawing can you write which your favourite place in Town that you like to visit? Such as I love .......

"We will get all drawings laminated and then displayed in the windows of the businesses where we are able to do so.

"We will even try to match where your favourite place is on your drawing with the place, you can then go and visit your picture! Hoping that we can all pull together, make the town brighter with the fabulous pictures that will be in the windows and show all of our local businesses in Leamington town centre that we are here for them and will support them when they are back."
