A public consultation planned for this month has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak prompting builders LSP Developments to set-up an online survey allowing neighbours to have their say.

Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for business and environment Cllr Alan Rhead (Con Budbrooke) said: “The Lower Heathcote Local Centre is a much needed facility to serve the needs of the growing population and provide a hub for the community to meet and socialise. We would therefore encourage local people to give their feedback and views on this important scheme.”

Bishop’s Tachbrook Parish Council is also calling on residents to get involved and LSP Developments hope to reschedule the public consultation for those without online access to complete the survey.

The company’s website explains that there are already sport and gym facilities nearby and community halls at St. Chad’s Centre and Warwick Gates.

But it adds: “Immediate convenience retail provision in the area is limited, likewise there is a shortage of children’s nursery places and care home bed spaces.

“It is proposed to be a well-designed, vibrant centre with a range of amenities and employment opportunities for the immediate residential population it serves.

“The site plan shows the proposed scheme situated around a central Community Square which could accommodate a range of functions such as farmers/Christmas markets and fetes.”
