A Hillmorton girl turned into a young entrepreneur to raise funds for the NHS in honour of her football star grandfather.

Nine-year-old Isla Fusedale was left deeply upset when her grandfather, ex Tottenham Hotspur play Ian Fusedale, died suddenly of Covid-19 in April.

Isla's mother Lisa, who works as the assistant head at Revel CofE Primary School, said Isla had been talking about setting up a lemonade stand to raise funds for the NHS.

And on July 18 Isla and older brother Caspar set up the stand in front of the family home, selling lemonade and ice cream.

The stand ran for around two hours and raised £59 for Barnet Hospital, where grandfather Ian died.

Lisa said: "We are extremely proud. She got the idea in her head and she is very dogged when she wants to do something.

"The neighbours were very supportive, and many of Isla's school friends came along too."

Isla's father Simon then set up a JustGiving page to boost the fundraiser - and so far it has gathered £1,410 in donations.

Lisa said Barnet Hospital has been in touch as they would like to present Isla with a thank-you certificate.
