The Myton Hospices is urging supporters to put their best foot forward and help raise vital funds by taking part in its 2021 Virtual Walk for Myton.

The charity, which cares for adults with life limiting illnesses across Coventry and Warwickshire, from diagnosis to death, held its first ever Virtual Walk, in the height of the pandemic, last year.

And it is hoping residents across the county will support it once again on Sunday May 9 for this year’s walk, which is sponsored by Nimbus.

'Walk for Myton' is one of the Hospices most popular events and sees hundreds of people taking on one of three specially selected routes every May to help raise vital funds. Coronavirus restrictions meant this wasn’t possible last year.

But, knowing how much its supporters love taking part, the Hospice resolved that ‘the show must go on’ and created its 'Virtual Walk for Myton'.

Ongoing restrictions mean the same this May, prior to hopefully being able to meet in larger groups later in the year.

So the charity is again asking people to take on their very own 'Walk for Myton' from their house or a nearby location in safe bubbles or groups, while still raising the same amazing money.

Rebecca Richards, events manager at The Myton Hospices, said: “This is a great opportunity for you to get out for your daily exercise, remember a loved one, and enjoy some quality time alone or with your friends and family.

“We can’t wait for our events to get back to normal and to be able to enjoy them with our fabulous fundraisers, but in the meantime, we hope people will step out for the cause.

“Now, more than ever, we need your help to raise vital funds so we can continue to support those who need us most, now and in the future.”

Registration for the Virtual Walk for Myton costs £5 for adults and £3 for children and can be done online at www.mytonhospice.org/walk
